Kathrin recently obtained her Master of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Alberta with a specialization in International Relations and Migration. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in North American Studies and Political Science from the Freie Universität Berlin. She has previously held positions as a Teaching and Research Assistant for the Department of Political Science, as well as Student Advisor and Editorial Assistant for other institutions.
Kathrin’s latest research examines the securitization of migration in the European Union, specifically the reintroduction of internal border controls during the 2015 ‘refugee crisis.’ She aspires to work in the area of migration research and management in the future.
