Edgar received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Mapua Institute of Technology in Manila, Philippines. In 1998, he earned a second B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary before pursuing an M.Eng. Degree at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Edgar also holds an MBA from the University of Alberta. He completed his Ph.D. in June 2019 under the co-guidance of Dr. Qureshi at the ADaMS Lab. Before pursuing a PhD, Edgar worked in Syncrude Canada Ltd., TransAlta Corporation, and Enbridge Pipelines Inc. in technical and managerial roles responsible for overseeing interdisciplinary design teams.
Edgar’s current research focuses on vision-assisted robotic manufacturing systems, machine learning, deep learning, and dynamic control of additive and robotic manufacturing systems.
